Mirchev is a bear tamer who treats Wela as part of the family. Fifteen years ago, after he lost his job, the man decided to take the bear and teach her to dance. His ancestors were bear tamers as well. One day, Mirchev’s house is visited by Kosta – a worker of the Animal Protection Association. When Mirchev realized that Kosta wants to take Wela away, he does not agree. He decides to kidnap Wela and run. The plan is simple – he goes to Strandża, to his Grandfather. It’s the only place where people and animals are free in nature. During the travel through Bulgaria, he notices that country irreversibly changed.
